Their business interests included agriculture, tenant farming, and a coal mine. The records include letters, rent books, and other business records. The collection also includes personal correspondence, diaries and journals, and personal ephemera.

Scope and content:

This collection contains material regarding Jane Austin and Mr. Darcy, collected and compiled by the Pemberly Estate archivists, Patty Wanninger and George Holbert Tucker between 1987-present day. The bulk of the material was collected by the Darcy Family.

Arrangement:

This colleciton is made up of three series. Series I: Business Records containing Rent ledgers, 1808-1828; Correspondence relating to the Coal mine, 1818-1828; and Correspondence relating to the estate. Series II: Family Papers,Correspondence, Fitzwilliam Darcy, 1896-1808; Correspondence, Fitzwilliam Darcy, 1808-1840; Diaries and journals of Darcy Family members, 1798-1820.
